Why client comms gets expensive
The most expensive part of running a project for a client is talking to them about the project.
Every UK consultancy spends hours per week answering "what's the status?" emails. The information is in the project; the client just can't see it. So they email.
Status emails consume the PM team
Every Friday, the PM team writes 20 status updates. Every Monday, the client emails follow-ups. The cycle eats 20% of PM hours and adds nothing the data doesn't already say.
Variations agreed verbally, signed off late
Variation V-014 was agreed verbally at a meeting. Three weeks later, the client questions it. There's no audit trail; the conversation is awkward.
Documents shared via email attachments
The client asks for the latest cost report; you email it. Two weeks later they ask again — they can't find the email. You email it again. Multiplied by every document, every project, every client.
How it looks
The client view your client actually wants.
Stage, programme, cost summary, variation list, recent updates. Live. Branded with the consultancy. No internal commercial detail. The "what\'s the status?" question, answered before it\'s asked.

Capabilities
Granular control over what the client sees.
Per-project visibility
Clients only see the projects you choose to share with them. Multi-project clients see their own portfolio; single-project clients see one project.
Per-field redaction
Show forecast cost; hide variance %. Show approved variations; hide pending ones. Show committed cost summary; hide the package-by-package breakdown. Configurable per workspace.
Branded experience
Sub-domain (`client.yourfirm.com`), your logo, your colours. The client doesn't see Projavio; they see your firm's portal.
Variation approval workflow
Pending variations can require client approval before they're actioned. Approval recorded with timestamp and audit trail. No more "we agreed this verbally" disputes.
Document delivery
Share approved cost reports, programmes, drawings, and meeting minutes. Clients access their archive without emailing the PM team.
Activity feed
Recent updates feed: variation approved, cost report published, programme revised. The client sees changes the moment they happen, not when the next monthly report is sent.
Who benefits
The client portal that helps both sides.
Project Managers
Stop writing 20 status updates a week. The portal answers "where are we?" before the client asks. PM time goes back to project work.
Quantity Surveyors
Pending variations route through the client portal for approval. Authorised in a click, audit-trailed automatically. No more "we agreed it on a call" arguments.
Directors / Partners
A premium client experience — the kind of visibility your firm offers becomes a differentiator at bid stage. The portal converts before the project starts.
See your client portal.
A 30-minute demo on a real project of yours — bring a client and a project, and we\'ll show you what they\'d see in Projavio.
Frequently asked questions
Can clients see other workspaces or projects?
No. Clients only see the projects you explicitly share with them. Multi-tenant isolation is enforced at the database via row-level security; cross-client data leakage is structurally impossible.
How granular is the visibility control?
Per workspace, per project, per field. You can hide forecast cost, show actual; show variations approved, hide pending; show programme, hide cost entirely. Configurable per client.
Can we white-label the portal?
Yes — sub-domain, logo, brand colours all configurable. The client experience reads as your firm, not Projavio.
What happens with sensitive variation pricing?
You choose. Show approved variation values; show only descriptions; hide entirely until approved. Most firms show approved-with-value, hide pending.
How do clients access the portal?
Email invitation with a sign-in link. No app to install. Clients can be on iPad, mobile, or desktop. Authentication via email + password or SSO if your client has it.
Can clients comment or message?
Yes — clients can comment on variations, request documents, and ask questions through the in-app message thread. Comments route to the project team in Projavio. Replaces email threads.
Is it included in every plan?
Yes — client portal is included on Starter, Growth, and Enterprise. The portal is a core capability, not an add-on.
Stop writing the status update.
Your client sees the project. You spend the time on the project.
