Solution · Quantity Surveyors
QS software for UK quantity surveyors.
The toolkit a working QS uses every week — PCSR, valuations, variations, procurement, cashflow — in one workspace, without the Excel stack.
Why QS work in Excel
QS work is one of the most spreadsheet-locked roles in construction.
It\'s not that QSs prefer Excel. It\'s that no platform has matched the specificity of the work — until now.
Every project is its own workbook
PCSR, valuation schedule, variation log, cashflow — usually four separate workbooks per project. Replicate that across 10 projects and you have 40 files to keep in sync.
Reconciliation is the hidden cost
Approve a variation, update the variation log, update the PCSR, update the cashflow, update the valuation. Four updates for one event. Most slips happen on the third.
Handover is brittle
A senior QS leaves; their workbooks have non-obvious formulas, hidden sheets, and "ask me what this means" cells. The replacement spends three weeks reverse-engineering before doing real work.
In practice
A day in the life of a QS using Projavio.
A QS managing 10 live projects
Each project has a PCSR, a valuation schedule, a variation log, and a cashflow. In Excel, that's 40 workbooks to maintain. In Projavio, it's 10 projects in one workspace — the underlying surfaces are reconciled automatically.
A senior QS reviewing the portfolio
Live cost variance across all 10 projects in one view. Spot the project drifting before the monthly cost report meeting. Identify variations getting away from you before the client conversation does.
A graduate QS starting Monday
Pick up a project on day one and see the full commercial picture without inheriting someone else's workbook. The data structure is consistent across projects; the methodology is built in.
The modules QSs live in
The five surfaces that cover 90% of QS work.
PCSR / Cost Reports
Live committed, anticipated, forecast across every project — without a workbook.

Variations
JCT and NEC-aware lifecycle. Cost and programme impact in one record.

Cashflow
S-curve plan, actual, forecast. Reconciled with the PCSR automatically.

Procurement & POs
Procurement packages with PO issuance. Committed cost flows automatically.
Detailed Estimates
Line-item estimates with package linkage. From estimate to procurement in one click.
Benchmark Estimates
High-level cost-per-m² estimates for early-stage feasibility — informed by your historical data.
By seniority
Built for QSs at every stage of their career.
Graduate / Assistant QS
A consistent data structure across projects. Pick up a project on day one without inheriting a workbook nobody can explain.
Senior QS
Stop maintaining four workbooks per project. Spend the time you save on commercial work — variations, valuations, supplier management.
Associate / Director-QS
Portfolio variance and forecasting in one view. The Director conversation becomes a chart, not a workbook reconciliation.

Frequently asked questions
How does Projavio differ from Excel for QS work?
Same numbers, no formula maintenance, no broken links. The PCSR, variation log, valuation schedule, and cashflow are all surfaces over the same underlying data — change one, the others reconcile automatically.
Does it support JCT and NEC?
Yes — variation lifecycle states, contract clause references, and approval workflows align with both JCT and NEC contract structures. Projavio is built UK-first.
Can I import my existing PCSR workbook?
Yes. Most QSs migrate one project on their first day — Projavio matches your column structure to its schema and brings every line across with timestamps preserved.
Does it replace Sage / accounting?
No. Project-level commercial reporting (PCSR, variations, cashflow) is in Projavio; ledger / payroll / statutory reporting stays in Sage / Xero. Most firms run both.
Can the contractor see this?
No — Projavio is for the consultancy side. The contractor never sees your PCSR or variation log. They submit valuations and POs through their own systems; you process them in Projavio.
What about valuation processing?
Valuations are processed against the PCSR and feed the cashflow actual line. Approve a valuation, the cashflow updates, the PCSR forecasts adjust. One event, one update.
Does Projavio integrate with takeoff tools?
Detailed estimates can be imported from CSV from any takeoff tool (Cubit, Bluebeam, etc.). Native takeoff integration is on the roadmap.
